How we order listings

The order of results is decided only by the parameters on this page. Sorting never adds a listing that does not match your filters.

Most relevant (the default)

Sponsored listings come first, then the rest. When you search by text, what decides is how well a listing matches your words: the title weighs most, then the make and model, then the description. On a tie, and without a text search, listings published or boosted more recently come higher.

Newest

Sponsored listings first, then the rest by when they were published, or by when the seller last boosted them for free.

Price, year, mileage

Ordered strictly by the value you chose. Sponsoring and boosting have no effect on this order: the cheapest car comes first, promoted or not.

Sponsored listings

Sponsoring is paid promotion of a listing. Such a listing is always marked "Sponsored", appears only when it matches your filters, and moves up only in the default order and in newest first.

Boosting a listing

A seller can boost their published listing for free, at most once per waiting period set by Auto Marketplace. A boost moves it among the newest, but does not change the date it was published.

What does not affect the order

The order does not depend on whether a private person or a trader is selling, on the Car Score, on your behaviour on the site, or on any payment other than the sponsoring described above. Results are not personalised for individual visitors.

Similar listings

On a listing's page we suggest similar vehicles of the same kind, priced within ±30% of the one you are viewing. They are ordered by how closely they match: the same model weighs most, then the make, body type, fuel and transmission; the further the year and mileage differ, the lower a car comes. Sponsoring has no effect on this order.
